Environmental art
Environmental art is a socially and politically charged art form that concentrates on on the relationship between human beings and nature. It turns attention to the vulnerability and overexploitation of natural environment as well as the problems rising from alienation from nature.

Environmental art recreates reality by providing alternative solutions to finding meaning in regions and landscapes.

Environmental art started off in the 1960s in the US as a protest against commercialization of art. The new medium abandoned museums and galleries and moved on to nature. Artworks that were often inspired by minimalism and conceptualism became parts of nature: they had been created from nature and they were exhibited in the same environment. In addition to artistic reasons, creation of environmental art has been on the rise because of the rise of environmental awareness as well as concern about the condition of our natural environment.
